About Jacob (Ya'akov) Sapon

I am a musician, poet, educator and Jewish prayer leader living in Philadelphia, PA. As a student in ALEPH’s Earth-Based Judaism program, I am currently deepening my knowledge of the powerful streams of Earth-based consciousness that run through Jewish tradition. My hope as an artist is to help catalyze a collective paradigm shift toward a healthier relationship with our humble home on planet Earth. When I am not writing whimsical musings on Shmita you can find me visiting my favorite trees and making friends with cats.

About A Shmita/Yovel Interactive, Choose-your-own-adventure, Contemplative Seder and Idea-Sparker

The following seven encounters with Shmita and Yovel are an invitation to experience the source text for Shmita (from the book of Leviticus) in our bodies, minds and hearts. What if each verse from Torah could function as gateway into expanded consciousness? May the following memory, midrash, and mindful experience be an entryway to the envisioning of a more interconnected and interdependent world. And don’t forget to close your eyes and breathe!
